Personal data is always processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation and in accordance with the national data protection regulations applicable to us. If using a product or service on our online shop should require personal data to be processed, this will be done either on a legal basis or by asking for your consent.
We have taken appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data and its confidentiality, availability and integrity. Furthermore, we have reviewed the service providers commissioned by us and contractually obliged them to ensure a comparably appropriate level of protection.

3. Category and Purpose of Data Processing

3.1 Log Files

When visiting our online shop, the following data is recorded automatically:

  • The IP address used by your device
  • Time and date
  • Browser used and your device’s operating system
  • The site which sent you to our online shop (referrer)
  • Your Internet service provider (ISP)
  • The pages you visited

We collect this data in order to ensure that using our online services is a pleasant experience, and to ensure the security and stability of our technical systems. Deducing personal data about you is neither possible nor intended. The legal basis for data processing is Art. 6 Par. 1 Cl. 1 lit. f GDPR.

3.2 Cookies

Our online shop uses cookies. These are small text files saved on your device which can be used during your next visit to recover settings and other changes you make. Cookies allow us to personalise our services and make them more user-friendly. For example, cookies allow the items the customer places in their virtual shopping basket to be saved.

  • The site which sent you to our online shop (referrer)

We use the add-on “_gat._anonymizeIp”, which makes Google shorten and anonymise your IP address when accessing our online shop from an EU member state or from a state in the European Economic Area which has signed the agreement.

3.4 Google AdWords

Our online shop uses Google Adwords. This service allows us to show advertisements in Google search results and on the Google Network based on previously defined keywords. In addition, this service allows us to monitor the extent to which our ads have prompted users to make purchases or perform other previously defined actions.

The cookie is used to check whether a previously defined action – e.g. accessing a specific subpage, adding goods to your digital shopping basket, or making a purchase – has been carried out. The cookie created for this purpose loses its validity after 30 days and does not serve to identify you personally. The processed data is required for the purpose mentioned above in order to protect our legitimate interests and those of third parties pursuant to Art. 6 Par. 1 Cl. 1 lit. f GDPR.

3.5 Conclusion, Processing and Reversal of Sales Contracts

When initiating, concluding, processing or reversing sales contracts, including any resulting liability and warranty claims, we will process personal data in accordance with legal regulations. The provision of personal data for the aforementioned purposes is based on tax regulations, among other things, and is prescribed by law. Data is processed based on your order and is required pursuant to Art. 6 Par. 1 Cl. 1 lit. b GDPR.

For the purpose of concluding, processing or reversing sales contracts, we collect and process the following personal data:

  • First name and surname
  • Billing and delivery address
  • E-mail address
  • Order details
  • Payment method and payment service provider chosen
  • IP address

In order to fulfill sales contracts concluded with us, we pass on personal data to a fulfillment service provider who dispatches the goods on our behalf, insofar as this is necessary and permissible. In these cases, we limit the amount of data transferred to the absolute minimum required.

3.6 Payment

3.6.1 PayPal as a Payment Method

Our online shop offers PayPal as a payment method. PayPal is a payment provider which allows payments to be made using virtual accounts. To pay via PayPal you either log into PayPal using your PayPal account, or use a different payment method that PayPal offers you.

As well as for payment processing, the data transferred also serves credit assessment and fraud prevention purposes. For these purposes, PayPal may transfer your personal data to credit agencies, external service providers or affiliated companies, insofar as this is necessary for the provision of services. Data processing for credit assessment and fraud prevention is our legitimate interest and is based on Art. 6 Par. 1 Cl. 1 lit. b GDPR.

3.6.2. Credit Card as a Payment Method

Our online shop offers credit card as a payment method. We process credit card payments using the payment provider Stripe. When paying with credit card, you transfer the card number, expiry date and security code of your credit card to the company Stripe Payments Europe Ltd.

With the help of a technical procedure the validity of your credit card data is checked and the payment is carried out. We will then receive immediate confirmation of the payment, which will enable us to ship the goods you have ordered straight away.

3.7 Customer Support

You can contact us by e-mail for customer support. We will display a corresponding e-mail address in appropriate places on the pages of our online shop for this purpose. The personal data you send us when making an e-mail enquiry (e.g. name, e-mail address, telephone number) is used exclusively for the purpose of corresponding with you and will only be processed for the purpose for which you contacted us.

The legal basis for data processing is Art. 6 Par. 1 Cl. 1 lit. f GDPR.

We also offer additional material for the products we sell. You have the option to download this material from https://www.culinario-mortale.co.uk/support. In order to make use of this option you will need a support code. This code is included with each of our products and is intended to ensure that only owners of our products can make use of this option. Deducing personal data about you based on the support code is neither possible nor intended.

4. Retention Period

We store personal data only until the purpose of its retention is fulfilled or if prescribed by legal retention obligations. Once the purpose of storage has been fulfilled or no longer applies, and all legal retention obligations have expired, we delete the data.

5. Data Subject Rights

You can assert the following rights. Please send an e-mail to mail@culinario-mortale.co.uk for this purpose. Please note that we must establish and verify your identity in order for you to assert your rights.

5.1 Right to Object

You have the right to object to your data being processed at any time. This right applies prospectively. The data collected up to the point the right was asserted remains unaffected.

5.2 Right to Data Portability

You have the right to request for your data to be transferred from us to another location.

5.3 Right of Access

You have the right to request information about your data.

5.4 Right to Rectification, Erasure or Blocking

You have the right to have your data corrected, deleted or blocked. The latter applies in the event that the legal situation does not permit your data to be deleted.

5.5 Right of Restriction of Processing

You have the right to request that we restrict the processing of your data.

5.6 Right to Complain

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority about the processing of your data.

6. Changes to the Privacy Policy

As the data controller, we reserve the right to modify the privacy policy at any time with regard to applicable data protection regulations. The policy was last modified in July 2018.
